SPBCo is extremely proud to announce the recent purchase of a KBA 145 Rapida (57”) printing press. Continuing the Company’s commitment to large format sheet-fed offset converting, this new technology combines the faster make-ready and increased run speed profile of past 40” printing presses with the large format 57” layout, double that of a 40”. With 7 color capability, tower coater and extended delivery, and equipped with all of the latest technology in color control and automation, this new printing press will strongly complement our business mix of both branded and private label packaging for some of America’s leading consumer product companies.
Scheduled to arrive in November, its installation will coincide with SPBCo’s 90th anniversary. As a very tangible sign of the Liebl family’s continued commitment to independent growth and excellence in converting, this new KBA 145 Rapida will give us the additional printing capacity that our strong past growth profile and future planned expansion demanded. We anticipate that our historical metrics on responsive cycle times, reliable on-time deliveries, highly compliant product quality, and total cost competitiveness will all be enhanced by this significant capital expenditure.
